Content & Community Guidelines

Sonoroo is an audio-first platform for adults. These guidelines describe what may and may not be published — in recordings, titles, descriptions and profiles — and apply to everything spoken, performed, implied or written on the Platform.

1. Principles

  • Everyone on Sonoroo is an adult, and everyone heard in a recording has consented.
  • At launch, the only person heard in a recording is the verified creator.
  • Creators publish their own work or work they have the rights to.
  • Private people stay private.
  • The law applies, whatever the format.

2. How these rules apply to audio

We assess what a recording communicates as a whole, including:

  • spoken words, narration, dialogue and sound;
  • stated or implied ages, roles, relationships and circumstances;
  • titles, descriptions, tags and the creator’s profile;
  • roleplay and scripted scenarios;
  • any request directed at listeners, on or off the Platform.

Fictional framing, roleplay, “fantasy” labels or disclaimers do not make otherwise prohibited content acceptable. Content that depicts, describes or suggests minors in a sexual context, exploitation, or non-consensual sexual activity is prohibited even if it is presented as fiction.

3. Prohibited content

The following is never allowed on Sonoroo:

  • Minors. Any sexualization of minors; child sexual abuse material; any sexual content involving, describing or directed at a person under 18, including references to someone being underage or child-like in a sexual context. See the Anti-Trafficking & Child Safety Policy.
  • Non-consent. Sexual content recorded or published without the consent of everyone involved; sexual violence presented as real or non-consensual; content involving people who are asleep, intoxicated or otherwise unable to consent.
  • Trafficking, exploitation and coercion. Content that promotes or facilitates trafficking, sexual exploitation, coercion or debt bondage.
  • Incest and bestiality, including roleplay.
  • Doxxing and private information. Revealing someone’s real name, address, workplace, contact details or other private information without consent.
  • Deceptive impersonation. Presenting yourself as another real person, or using another person’s voice (including synthetic or cloned voices) to deceive listeners.
  • Threats and violence. Threats, incitement to violence, or promotion of unlawful violence or self-harm.
  • Illegal goods and services. Offering or promoting illegal goods, drugs, weapons or services, including commercial sexual services.
  • Other people’s voices. Any other person heard, featured, participating or recorded in a recording — including in the background or in sampled audio — unless Sonoroo has explicitly enabled and completed participant verification for that recording. Sonoroo does not offer participant verification at launch. See the Age, Identity & Consent Policy.
  • Stolen or infringing material. Content you do not have the rights to publish. See the Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.
  • Privacy violations. Recordings of people made or shared without their permission, or content that otherwise violates another person’s rights.

4. Solicitation and off-platform contact

Recordings, descriptions and profiles must not be used to arrange in-person meetings for payment, sell sexual services, or move listeners to off-platform payments. Contact details and payment requests in content are not allowed.

5. Misleading content and spam

Titles and descriptions must reflect the recording. Do not publish duplicate, mislabelled or automatically generated filler content, or manipulate discovery.

6. Review and enforcement

Every recording is reviewed by a moderator before it is published. Moderators reject or escalate recordings that appear to break these guidelines — including any recording in which a person other than the verified creator appears to be heard — and published recordings can be reviewed again at any time, including after a report.

Breaches can lead to removal, restriction of monetization, suspension or account closure, depending on severity. Content involving minors or exploitation leads to immediate removal and account restriction, and may be reported to competent authorities.

7. Reporting

If you come across content that breaks these rules, please tell us through Report Abuse.
