1. Creators must hold the rights
Creators may publish only content they created or are licensed to use, including any music, sound effects, scripts and readings of written works. Other people’s voices — including vocals in music or samples — are not permitted at launch; see the Age, Identity & Consent Policy. See also the Creator Terms.
2. Submitting a complaint
If you own rights in a work, or are authorised to act for the owner, and believe content on Sonoroo infringes them, email legal@sonoroo.com.
Please include:
- your name and contact details, and on whose behalf you act if not yourself;
- a description of the work you believe is infringed;
- the link to the content on Sonoroo (or the creator’s handle and recording title) and, if relevant, where in the recording the material appears;
- why you believe the use is not authorised;
- a statement that the information in your complaint is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
3. Review and removal
We review complete complaints and may remove or restrict the content, ask the creator for information, or decline to act if the complaint is incomplete or unfounded. We tell the creator when their content is restricted because of a complaint, and may share the complaint with them so they can respond.
4. Counter-notices and disputes
A creator who believes content was removed by mistake, or that they have the necessary rights, can reply to our notice or write to legal@sonoroo.com explaining why, with any supporting evidence such as a licence. We review the response and may restore the content, keep it restricted, or ask the parties to resolve the matter between them.
5. Repeat infringement
We may suspend or close the accounts of creators who repeatedly publish infringing content.
6. Misuse of this process
Knowingly false or abusive complaints or counter-notices may lead to action against the account involved and may have legal consequences for the sender.
